Capcom currently expects to sell 7 million copies of Resident Evil 6 and is now planning the next title. To compete with other game releases, they want to shorten the release cycle to 2.5 years.
Fans of the original games will have noticed the shift from horror to action – but according to Capcom they want to appeal to as many gamers as possible and do not intend to change that.
However, they should most definitely take a look at the current ratings on metacritic.com . There are over 2000 negative reviews and this possibly means Capcom will have to re-invent Resident Evil once again or Resident Evil 7 will not break even, especially if they now have a lot more expenses due to more people working on the game. My suggestion would be to get rid off the quicktime events and add a lot more elements from the first 3 games, especially Resident Evil 3: Nemesis – that’s what a lot of fans of the series want.

With the information above, it is possible that the following dates are possible release dates:

This obviously depends on how well the development progresses and what other games will be released in 2014. If there is going to a lot of competition, Resident Evil 7 might be moved to October 05, 2015
